Our Story

Family Restoration Tanzania Charity helps families and orphans and, with your help, many more can be saved.

Founder/Trustees Comments: Family Restoration Tanzania Charity (FRTC) was established in January 2005 by a few individuals who realised that they have a responsibility to support other people who are disadvantaged either because of their disability, old age, single parent status or because they are an orphan. These groups unfortunately exist and are increasing in number day by day.

These groups are suffering psychologically, emotionally and physically. These groups are feeling lonely. These groups are feeling abandoned by society. These groups are feeling depressed. These groups are feeling that they do not belong. These groups needed help from within. The most affected group members are women and children.

We felt concerned and obliged to help these kind of people. We realised that it was the right time to step in and show Love, Affection and Action to these groups. We opened our arms to all who were suffering and found out about all of their needs. We felt that it was our duty to share and to make a different.

A few months later we had several people who were willing to take part in changing the conditions of the disadvantaged groups. These people MADE THE DIFFERENCE.

The Trustees and founders are: Mr Dan Musyani (Chairperson); Mrs Mary Mwabwalwa (Secretary); Marwa Gimongo (Treasurer); Mrs Hobokela Urio (Trustee); Miss Jane Lulandala (Trustee); Mrs Tully Mtatiro (Trustee); Mrs Gulila Musyani (Trusteee); Ms Christina Kimomga (Trustee). Thereafter other people joined the community.

The first formal constitution was made in 2005. In 2006 the community became a Limited Company by guarantee. In 2007 the company became a charity (Charity Number 14841). To date we have 200 children in our records and 250 adults who are enjoying the presence of FRTC.

Mission: Family restoration Tanzania Charity (FRTC) is an organisation which promotes restoration of families which are being disintegrated as a result of poverty. FRTC aims at improving housing and literacy, and eliminating diseases that are caused by contamination and malnutrition. FRTC pays special attention to those affected by HIV Aids. We strive at extending excellent loving care whereby all those affected will receive frequent visits, education and counselling for the aim of prolonging and enhancing their lifes. FRTC will support the orphans and help them to acquire education and the valuable skills required in life at all levels.

Vision: Family Restoration Tanzania Charity (FRTC) is a charitable Organisation that promotes

  • Integration
  • Education
  • Health
Our moto is: Dignity, Respect and Care

Values:

  • We are committed to use our talents, time and energy to realize our disadvantaged groups wishes. We promise to use their resources wisely and with integrity of purpose. We cherish the character of our organization and will ensure our activities reflect the needs of communities across Tanzania.
  • We normally establish and maintained a complementary working relationship with all donors. All our activities are conducted with a high degree of professionalism, integrity and compassion at all levels. We endeavor to create a supportive environment that promotes open discussion, personal development and satisfaction. We will treat each other with care, compassion and understanding that we extend to others outside the organization.
  • We remember our beginnings with respect and will uphold our grass root heritage, never losing sight of love, compassion and dedication to Restore Families that makes us The Family Restoration of Tanzania.
There are many families and orphans who face the same struggles each day. There is little or no opportunity for a bright future. Most don’t know where their next meal is coming from and the houses they call home are falling apart. In nearly every one of our needy families, at least one or both parents have died from an illness or disease. Proper funding, education and health care would give children and families hope of the future, bright opportunities and most importantly save lives. Please help up to make a difference.
